Came here for a last minute lunch spot and was pleasantly surprised at the taste!! There's lots of places in this area but the thalis were spot on in terms of overall taste, flavor and spice level. The chaat thali is new and something we hadn't seen before and a great way to start the meals off! Overall, a little tight space but very clean and well maintained

Another awesome place for chaats in the area. Recommended by a friend and didn't disappoint us. We tried Paanch thali and Chole Bathura. Both were great. Service was also quick. Will be back when we are in NJ next.

In this crowded area of Indian quick food, Kesar is a spicy delight that brings it all together. This portion of Edison/ Islen has grown over the last 10 years. And this area is packed with quick eat shops. Kesar is family eat place that offers a very nice balanced meal for all. While the ambiance will be somewhat plain, don't be fooled. This restaurant is a 2nd location, the original located south past Hightstown. The taste is just as amazing and may even be better. They offer multiple varies of dishes. From full Thali's to indochinese, there is something for everyone. Thali is a complete dish with all the servings for an Indian meal. They have different varieties from vegan to special Indian diets like swaminariayan. The flavors will awaken your tastebuds. Ask for the food on the mild side if you prefer, because standard in true Indian style is spicy.

We came here from out of state to visit a relative in a nearby hospital. Came here based on the great reviews. We were seated and took a look at the menu and noticed that it's a strictly vegetarian restaurant. Big oops but luckily for us vegetarian Indian food is the absolute best. My son is a bit picky and vegetable aversive so he just got the fries. I ordered the Amritsari kulchi Thali and hubby ordered the Punjabi Thali. Both were delicious. Mine came with 2 of the main dishes while the Punjabi one comes with 4. The spinach dish was very fragrant. Not sure what that put in it but it was hard for us to finish. Not bad. Just a bit overwhelming. The paneer makhni was so delicious. I could eat that everyday. My aloo stuffed bread was heavenly. It promoted me to try the paneer filled bread (which came out from the kitchen literally 2 minutes after we flagged down our waiter) but I think that the potato/aloo one was better. My chai was perfect. We left full and satisfied with our little mistake. Plenty of parking because of the location in the strip mall. Lots of happy customers dining in. Clean bathroom. Fast and friendly service. I wish there was a spot like this closer to home. If you live near Edison give this place a shot. You'll barely miss the meat!

Pretty good. I felt the food was better at the East Windsor location. To Edison's defense I had this order delivered versus sitting in East Windsor. Either way, food is really flavorful and well prepared. I will have to visit and sit-in next time to enjoy straight from the kitchen.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kesar Restaurant in Edison, and it was an absolute delight for the taste buds. This establishment specializes in Indian vegetarian cuisine, and it left a lasting impression. The highlight of the visit was the Maharaja Thali, a true explosion of flavors and textures and variety/ no of dishes. This platter offered an exquisite selection of various Indian cuisines like Punjabi, gujarati etc items. It was an adventure to order this one and see how 2 people carry out a Giant Thali. This can be shared among 4 people- but let me tell you even 4 people cannot finish this one Thai ! Equally impressive was the Amritsari / Kathyawadi Thali. They have several no of other Thali options which are equally eye catching. It was a wholesome and satisfying meal that definitely left all of us overeating. It's a culinary journey that I highly recommend.

I rarely give a 5 and this place deserves it . I thought of giving a 4 , because the service was a bit slow , but the food taste insisted me to give 5/5 ... and the price point is also good. Not too expensive , not to cheap. Average price . I'm not a big fan of their sweets though. We ordered amritsari Thali , Kesars special Thali and kulcha thali. All we ordered tasted good ... I have been to other kesar locations and I'm a big fan of their bahubali thali. Nice concept. My kids loved the food. Not too spicy byt right taste . I haven't been here in peak times , but the place looks small for many of them to sit and eat ! Not sure what the wait times are in peak time . Overall had a good time in Kesars ...
